How to perfect your lipstick | Pictorial

 Sometimes just chucking on a lipstick isn't going to cut it, especially with some formulas that like to make their way over your face, or does that just happen to me? I've found that applying my lipstick this way, using different lip liners & doing it in different layers helps it to stay put & last a lot longer, too. This is not something that I do everyday but when I have time & I'm wearing a bolder lip colour I like to spend a bit more on the lips. 1. Line just outside of your natural lip line with a lip liner that is close to your natural colour if you prefer a fuller lip. Tip: If you're going for a nude lip, use a colour slightly darker than your lipstick. 2. Apply your lipstick of choice. It doesn't matter if you don't cover up the liner completely as we'll be going over that again. Make sure to really press your lips together to work the lipstick in. Tip: Use a lip brush with the first coat which helps the lipstic

Of course I also bought clothes when I went away, although not as much as what I would like but my suitcase was already filled to the top & I had spent enough already :p
I wish I had a full length mirror to show the clothes properly, but you will have to envision them looking nice haha. I can't believe its august, which means that winter is nearly over (for the southern half of the earth, lol). The days have already started to get a tiny bit longer haha.

These first 3 items were purchased from Roads.


 $39.80- a great top that looks nice with just leggings (it covers the bum haha) but it definitely needs a black tank underneath as it has see-through parts. It's a little bit baggy but looks good with or without a belt around the waist. I love the colour too... it came in others as well.
 $39.80- doesn't look the nicest in this pic haha sorry. Looks nice worn with jeans or leggings, It's quite long & warm for a chilly breeze, but probably can be paired with some sort of jumper if it's any colder then that lol
 I've been wanting a sweater dress for soo long so I finally got one, and it was only $29. You can see it stretches out a far way but looks best with leggings. I'd recommend a long sleeved shirt underneath with the cap sleeves lol. But this is really warm, especially with the turtle neck.
Another bargain, $70 down from $120 at Amart. Although it doesn't snow here this would be perfect for it. And it's such a gorrrrgeous colour, they had a nice range!

I got these boots from Novo as they had their stock take clearance, $50 down from $90 woohoo! I've got a pair of boots in dark & light gray and finally black haha. I like the buckle up the top.
I've needed uggs for the longest time! These were $30 from Spendless and they're so fluffy on the inside. Perfect for the cold mornings & nights!

These aren't technically winter clothes but I bought them around the same time.
 $50 from Roads. A bit on trend with the peplum, haha. This is my first of them and I def. want more, they hide the tum real good lol. The lace is a nice touch too.
$40 from Spendless. I've wanted a pair of snakeskin shoes forever. I love these esp. as they're wedges so they're a lot more comfy then heels.

Sorry this is a bit late, as everyone is already out of the Christmas mode as it comes to NYE! I didn't want to leave it any later, so this will be my last post for 2012. Can't believe the year is coming to an end, it went by so quickly, feels like just yesterday I was getting ready for last NYE. So yeah, here is my Christmas Eve & Day Makeup. Christmas Eve I had been wearing very similar makeup all day for work, so I just touched up my foundation with a bit of Garnier BB Cream, added more blush & fixed the eyes.   I like how warm toned this picture turned out.  Quick Product Breakdown~ Cheeks: MAC Pink Swoon Eyes: BH Cosmetics Day & Night: Gold [inner lid], bronze [lid], shimmery taupe [crease] Lips: MAC Myth with a coral ligloss over the top [hadn't re-touched it for a few hours so it's worn off a fair bit]   My OOTN, this sequined top is by Ally fashion & is actually sheer so I wore a bandeau bra underneath. I felt it was nice & Christmassy :) I

Stila After Glow Lip Colours | Review & Swatches

This post is as I promised in my Stila Haul Post   I wanted to do the review before I go away especially as they are limited edition & I have no idea how long they will be around for! The Stila After Glow Lip Colours are not really lipsticks, not really lip stains but like a jumbo lip pencil with a balmy, lipstick-type texture. Something that makes them different to other lip products are that they glow in UV light, which is what suckered me into them in the first place. Although I don't go clubbing as often as I used to, this would make for a nice surprise once the UV lights go on! I was going to have to wait to take a pic under black light but then I remembered that I had a UV light that was in an "invisible pen set" many years ago so I could test it out sooner rather than later.  Packaging: Black chubby stick-like wind-able pencils, with writing on tube corresponding to the colour of the lipstick that also glows. Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Moisturizer

Do you ever find you have never heard of a certain product or brand before and then as soon as you buy it, it pops up everywhere? This is what happened after I bought the Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Moisturizer, after finding reviews on Makeup Ally of their different moisturizers I chose one that seemed to be suitable for me.  This is the perfect daily moisturizer & I would think it would be just as beneficial for combination or dehydrated skin, as it applies like a very light lotion but still feels moisturizing without being greasy. It would be perfect to wear under foundation if you happen to be short on time and cannot wait ~10 minutes for it to sink in so you can do your thing afterwards.  In the ingredients list above you can see Hyaluronic acid is one of the main ingredients. This is actually found just under the epidermis (skin) which nourishes & increases water content to the skin by attracting water. Using this moisturizer would replace what dehydrated skin is lackin
