How to perfect your lipstick | Pictorial

Imagen
Sometimes just chucking on a lipstick isn't going to cut it, especially with some formulas that like to make their way over your face, or does that just happen to me? I've found that applying my lipstick this way, using different lip liners & doing it in different layers helps it to stay put & last a lot longer, too. This is not something that I do everyday but when I have time & I'm wearing a bolder lip colour I like to spend a bit more on the lips. 1. Line just outside of your natural lip line with a lip liner that is close to your natural colour if you prefer a fuller lip. Tip: If you're going for a nude lip, use a colour slightly darker than your lipstick. 2. Apply your lipstick of choice. It doesn't matter if you don't cover up the liner completely as we'll be going over that again. Make sure to really press your lips together to work the lipstick in. Tip: Use a lip brush with the first coat which helps the lipstic...

Cult Classics // China Glaze For Audrey

Imagen
For Audrey has been near the top of my To try cult list for a while. So I had finally bought it amongst Flip Flop Fantasy & Flirty Tankini on Brands Exclusive. It is a gorgeous pale turquoise or Tiffany blue colour, as the name suggests if you're familar with Breakfast at Tiffanys' & Audrey Hepburn. It is a cream finish and I found the consistency was pretty good while applying it, with only a few streaks that were covered by the second coat.   Unfortunately with my work light colours do not last too well on me as I am always rinsing off colours so it stains them. I generally don't have them on for longer than a week but sometimes I just reapply another layer. And playing around with a nail stamp which the gorgeous Amalia had sent to me, I'm not very good but practice makes perfect! I bought this from Brands Exclusive for around $8 but as that is a flash sale website like ozsale it is always available to buy online from Beauty Joint for $4. I suppose I somet...

Aussie Aussie Aussie! FOTD

Imagen
Oi Oi Oi! On Saturday was Australia Day, better known as "Straya Day" to some (in case you didn't know, we love our slang!) It is that awesome day where you beach it, bbq & drink and have fun with friends & family. This year my brother, his gf & our mate came down to celebrate with us on the long weekend.  So of course I had to make my makeup Aus day themed, although it looks more American & French than aussie because the colours are the same but it was too much effort to draw the union jack onto my eyes :P But I loved it none the less, and I just received these glitters 2 days before! I made sure to blend the colours well, until I added the glitter & couldn't blend them!  Silly me wearing glitter to the beach, as I was in the water and got splashed I got glitter in my eyes (I don't normally wear eye makeup when I go, btw!) but that doesn't matter :) ~Products~ Face: I only wore a light cover of Rimmel Wake Me Up Fdtn & Garnier BB Crea...

Recent Nail Designs, obsessed with gradients!

Imagen
I haven't properly posted my NOTW for a while so I've put together quite a few that I have done recently! We have had gel at my work for a little while so I was playing around with it a bit there but the truth was I missed playing with my colours which I did not want to neglect! Ever since I used the cling-wrap method here I've wanted to do it again . Sadly I have to have my nails short for work- I've always had long nails so it sucks for me. =/  Chi-Chi Salon Formula in Material Girl, Sportsgirl Nail It! in Bionic. I hadn't used a shatter polish for a while so I used my Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat polish in 06 Antiqued Gold over the top of Chi-Chi Salon Formula in Hissy Fit. China Glaze Sweet Hook, Nicole by OPI Justin Bieber One less Lonely Girl. My *first* go at gradient nails so it is a mess but I liked the colours together. You can still see my white base & there are gouges out of them and I had sponge sticking to my nails because I stupidly did not wet...

My NYE makeup

Imagen
Hey guys, once again sorry for another late post with my New Years Eve makeup! I've been so busy this week to be able to get around to posting it. So I hope everyone had a great night partying, or whatever you did :) We had the hottest day on new years day that we've had in a long time.... 46.C or 115 F.! Which kinda sucked because it was way too hot for the beach :( Anyway, it was humid on NYE especially when I was getting ready, so ignore the creasing!   So of course being NYE I had to add glitter to the look. I was a little bit inspired by Lisa Eldridge's party makeup look with the shape & colouring, and wanted it to match my dress without being too matchy-matchy.  ~Products~ Face : Australis Paparazzi Perfect foundation, Garnier BB Cream Physicians Formula mineral glow pearls in Beige Pearl MAC Lightscapade MAC Peachykeen Eyes : Essence I Essence mousse eyeshadow in Black as a base applied in a winged shape with Maybelline Color Tattoo in Edgy Emerald applied to the...

More Christmas... Makeup & Nails

Imagen
Sorry this is a bit late, as everyone is already out of the Christmas mode as it comes to NYE! I didn't want to leave it any later, so this will be my last post for 2012. Can't believe the year is coming to an end, it went by so quickly, feels like just yesterday I was getting ready for last NYE. So yeah, here is my Christmas Eve & Day Makeup. Christmas Eve I had been wearing very similar makeup all day for work, so I just touched up my foundation with a bit of Garnier BB Cream, added more blush & fixed the eyes.   I like how warm toned this picture turned out.  Quick Product Breakdown~ Cheeks: MAC Pink Swoon Eyes: BH Cosmetics Day & Night: Gold [inner lid], bronze [lid], shimmery taupe [crease] Lips: MAC Myth with a coral ligloss over the top [hadn't re-touched it for a few hours so it's worn off a fair bit]   My OOTN, this sequined top is by Ally fashion & is actually sheer so I wore a bandeau bra underneath. I felt it was nice & Christmassy :) I...

MAC & OPI Haul

Imagen
If you haven't been to www.ozsale.com.au before, you should check it out! --If you're in Australia, of course. They have great deals going all the time & a couple of months ago they had MAC & OPI on sale. Unfortunately the worst part of the website is the shipping- yes I have finally just received my products when I ordered them in October I think? When I saw they had MAC, I knew I would have to set my alarm as a reminder so I could go on straight away and not miss out. Honestly, it was quite disappointing! They said they had a huge selection, but when I went on at 9am on the dot they had 3 lipsticks, about 7 eye shadows & 7 blushes to choose from, so maybe it pays to be a member? O.P.I on the other hand had an amazing choice! Anyway, I still managed to pick up a few goodies.   O.P.I As I mentioned, O.P.I had an awesome selection so it was hard to choose! But I knew I had to grab these 2 polishes from the James Bond collection, The Living Daylights & Goldeney...
