How to perfect your lipstick | Pictorial

Imagen
Sometimes just chucking on a lipstick isn't going to cut it, especially with some formulas that like to make their way over your face, or does that just happen to me? I've found that applying my lipstick this way, using different lip liners & doing it in different layers helps it to stay put & last a lot longer, too. This is not something that I do everyday but when I have time & I'm wearing a bolder lip colour I like to spend a bit more on the lips. 1. Line just outside of your natural lip line with a lip liner that is close to your natural colour if you prefer a fuller lip. Tip: If you're going for a nude lip, use a colour slightly darker than your lipstick. 2. Apply your lipstick of choice. It doesn't matter if you don't cover up the liner completely as we'll be going over that again. Make sure to really press your lips together to work the lipstick in. Tip: Use a lip brush with the first coat which helps the lipstic...

Youtube Inspiration #4: Sharon Farrell

Imagen
Another inspiration of mine on Youtube is Sharon Farrell. I've only just discovered her in the last couple of months but she has a nice variety of tutorials, from Beauty Icons, Celebrities, basic makeup tutorials & improvised tutorials that she makes up on the spot. This one day I decided to try her Teal & Gold Peacock Eyes , well this is actually again my second attempt, as I had (again) forgotten exactly how she had done it the first time! She used some amazing MAC eyeshadows in hers so I had to try and match it as well as I could! Where I've listed what I used I added her products (next to them). Face | Rimmel Wake Me Up + Stay Matte powder, NARS Laguna , MAC Lightscapade , Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso Eyes | Chi Chi pencil eyeliner in Caribbean Queen [as a base, ended up creasing a bit] (MAC Minted)  Makeup Geek e/s Mermaid [1: Lid] (MAC Steamy) Bh Cosmetics Day & Night palette [2: Crease, lower lash line] (MAC Tilt) Skin tone colour from same palet...

Youtube Inspiration #2 | Lilpumpkinpie05 Tropical Paradise Eyes

Imagen
Lilpumpkinpie05 or Jackie O, aka Makeup Game On Point on facebook is an amazing MUA on youtube with an awesome, fun personality  and she makes you feel a part of her tutorials. I've recently mentioned her in another recent look but I wanted to do another one specifically for this series. She does some amazing makeup looks but I have recently recreated her Tropical Paradise eye look , which is actually my second attempt since my first one just came out as my same old peacock eyes as I forgot exactly what she did so it turned out the same as my others.  Face | I am still using my Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder, and I contoured with my Nars Laguna Bronzer & highlighted with MAC's Cream Colour Base in Pearl & MAC Lightscapade. For blush I wore Bourjois 16 Rose blusher over Nyx's Stick blush in Tulip. Eyes | After priming I used Maybelline's Colour Tattoo in Tenacious Teal all over the lid & along the lower lash line. O...

I've been a fan of watching beauty videos on YouTube such a long time, and recently I've copied a couple of makeup tutorials so I thought I would put it into kind of a mini series that I will occasionally post so I can share my favourite Beauty Guru's. Hopefully it will create inspiration for those who may be looking for someone new to follow. This first installment is an Arabic-inspired look by the beautiful & talented Emma Pickles. You should definitely check her out, she has an awesome accent, to-the-point videos & seems so lovely. I will share the video down below! Copy Cat Makeup // Dramatic Coloured FOTN

Imagen
Is it fair to say I was "inspired" by Misschievious on Youtube when I pretty much copied her drugstore makeup tutorial ? And although I was drooling over the Sleek Lagoon palette she used, I knew I would have plenty of similar colours I could substitute them for. I love using a darker base underneath bright colours for a bright but smoky look, as done in my Jewel Smoky Eye Makeup , as it brings them out differently compared to a lighter base. And although this was a bored-on-a-saturday-night-playing-with-makeup-look it wasn't a waste of makeup as we ended up going out in the end. Nothing worse when you do your makeup perfectly and then nothing happens! Ignore the eyelash giving me a lazy eye! ~Products Face: Australis Paparazzi Perfect Foundation Nude , Rimmel Wake Me Up Soft Beige , Nars Laguna , MAC Lightscapade, Ingot blush #51 Eyes: MAC Painterly Paintpot, Essence Ballerina Backstage eye souffle [black, base], Nyx Base White [base for inner corner & higher in th...

On Fiyah! Lava Dust Makeup Look

Imagen
I've been trying to use my Inglot eyeshadows a bit more lately and wanted to do something sunrise-ish and then I remembered I had a glitter that would go perfectly with this look! As you can see with my eyes open it's not very noticeable and then bam! I kept the rest of the face & lips quite light toned although I think it would look nicer with a coloured lip. ~Products~ Face: Rimmel Wake Me Up, Garnier BB Cream Revlon Hushed Blush in 'A Floral Affair' Nars Laguna, Mac Lightscapade Eyes: Mac Painterly Paintpot Inglot 'P 407' , 'DS 495',' AMC 60', 'P 393', Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy, La Splash glitter 'Lava Dust'. Nyx Slide on pencil 'Green Papaya', Nyx Slide on Pencil 'Sunrise blue', MUG 'Shimmer mint', Inglot 'P 428', Maybelline Master Precise, NP Set black eyeliner, Essence I Lips: Nyx Black Label Lipstick 'Nude' After I applied my primer, I started with Inglot 407 (shimmery peach) to 1/3...

Bh Cosmetics Day & Night Palette + First FOTD with it!

Imagen
I ordered the Day & Night platte from www.bhcosmetics.com as they were having a sale so I paid $10.50 for this bad boy! (not incl. shipping). You should follow their facebook page because they have so many great specials on all the time!         I received it on Tuesday and I have been using it ever since.. there are so many gorgeous colour combos you can do, sometimes I even do the unthinkable & use the night colours during the day ;) I'm so bad! :P Infact I like to use most of the night colours all the time since they're so purdy but the light pinks will come in handy for the warmer weather.  Using flash so you can see the gorgeous shimmers.. & in natural light so you can see the pigment naturally. The are 30 day colours & 30 night colours with a mixture of mattes & shimmers. Also I think I have found a few Naked palette dupes so stay tuned for that post! (one day, be patient ;)) Some of the colours are highly pigmented, but some are unfortunately not. Ov...

Green Eyeshadow, 2 ways.

Imagen
I hadn't really have done a green look in foreveer, and lets just say I had some idea's in my head & they actually turned out the way I wanted it to, for once! Greens can be worn toned down in more 'earthy' ways or if you like, you can wear them brightly even if it's just a pop of green or over the whole lid.  Look 1, Mossy Greens  I have no idea what I used on my face... but it's probably the same old foundations I'm trying to use up (why do they seem never ending!!) & also the Sportsgirl blush ~Eyes  Nyx Slide on Eyeliner Pencil in Green Papaya all over the lid & lower lashline I used all Makeup Geek Eyeshadows 1: Shimmermint 2: Poison Ivy 3:Envy- over Nyx Black Bean JEP 4: Seamist 5: Shimma Shimma Before I applied Seamist I blended Vanilla Bean from envy out to the brow bone so they would blend better together. Maybelline Master Precise eyeliner- No idea how I missed those couple of spots, grrr. Lips: Revlon Matte Lipstick in Strawberry Sue...
