How to perfect your lipstick | Pictorial

 Sometimes just chucking on a lipstick isn't going to cut it, especially with some formulas that like to make their way over your face, or does that just happen to me? I've found that applying my lipstick this way, using different lip liners & doing it in different layers helps it to stay put & last a lot longer, too. This is not something that I do everyday but when I have time & I'm wearing a bolder lip colour I like to spend a bit more on the lips. 1. Line just outside of your natural lip line with a lip liner that is close to your natural colour if you prefer a fuller lip. Tip: If you're going for a nude lip, use a colour slightly darker than your lipstick. 2. Apply your lipstick of choice. It doesn't matter if you don't cover up the liner completely as we'll be going over that again. Make sure to really press your lips together to work the lipstick in. Tip: Use a lip brush with the first coat which helps the lipstic

LA Girl Blush // Review, Swatches & Comparison

I bought these L.A Girl blushes from IKatehouse not too long ago and you may remember me saying I wasn't too sure about them, because it was so hard to find good swatches at the time so I wasn't sure what I would be getting. The shades I got weren't really unique so I thought I would go through my collection and see what they compared to.

 If you can see on the picture on the left, the flash captures the coral colour and golden sheen of Nectar, and the medium pink with slight shimmer of Just Pinched. The shimmer in both of these blushes are barely noticeable, and they pull more matte on me.

Packaging: Cheap feeling plastic compacts with a lift up mirror & brush underneath the product.
Pigmentation: Sheer, takes a few swipes from the pan to show up.
Texture: Not buttery soft but not hard, with satin/ shimmery finishes.
Price & Where to buy: $2.99 on Ikatehouse.com, Beautyjoint, Cherryculture for $6 but on special for $3.50.

The closest blush I have to in Nectar is definitely E.L.F's Peachykeen, they have the same peachy tone & shimmer. I don't think I will get much use out of this blush, I don't use Peachykeen much as it is so I will probably give it to a friend.

 Just Pinched isn't a stand out unique colour, it is probably the closest to Pinky but with the same sheen that Dolly mix has, but not as pigmented as either blushes.

Overall I think there are plenty of other 'drugstore' makeup brands that have better products, I probably wouldn't bother with L.A Girl again as I've found blushes from Nyx, E.L.F, Jordana & Milani have just as good/better pigmentation. I'm going to wear these a couple more times until I decided if I like them enough to keep or give away.

Sorry this is a bit late, as everyone is already out of the Christmas mode as it comes to NYE! I didn't want to leave it any later, so this will be my last post for 2012. Can't believe the year is coming to an end, it went by so quickly, feels like just yesterday I was getting ready for last NYE. So yeah, here is my Christmas Eve & Day Makeup. Christmas Eve I had been wearing very similar makeup all day for work, so I just touched up my foundation with a bit of Garnier BB Cream, added more blush & fixed the eyes.   I like how warm toned this picture turned out.  Quick Product Breakdown~ Cheeks: MAC Pink Swoon Eyes: BH Cosmetics Day & Night: Gold [inner lid], bronze [lid], shimmery taupe [crease] Lips: MAC Myth with a coral ligloss over the top [hadn't re-touched it for a few hours so it's worn off a fair bit]   My OOTN, this sequined top is by Ally fashion & is actually sheer so I wore a bandeau bra underneath. I felt it was nice & Christmassy :) I

Stila After Glow Lip Colours | Review & Swatches

This post is as I promised in my Stila Haul Post   I wanted to do the review before I go away especially as they are limited edition & I have no idea how long they will be around for! The Stila After Glow Lip Colours are not really lipsticks, not really lip stains but like a jumbo lip pencil with a balmy, lipstick-type texture. Something that makes them different to other lip products are that they glow in UV light, which is what suckered me into them in the first place. Although I don't go clubbing as often as I used to, this would make for a nice surprise once the UV lights go on! I was going to have to wait to take a pic under black light but then I remembered that I had a UV light that was in an "invisible pen set" many years ago so I could test it out sooner rather than later.  Packaging: Black chubby stick-like wind-able pencils, with writing on tube corresponding to the colour of the lipstick that also glows. Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Moisturizer

Do you ever find you have never heard of a certain product or brand before and then as soon as you buy it, it pops up everywhere? This is what happened after I bought the Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Moisturizer, after finding reviews on Makeup Ally of their different moisturizers I chose one that seemed to be suitable for me.  This is the perfect daily moisturizer & I would think it would be just as beneficial for combination or dehydrated skin, as it applies like a very light lotion but still feels moisturizing without being greasy. It would be perfect to wear under foundation if you happen to be short on time and cannot wait ~10 minutes for it to sink in so you can do your thing afterwards.  In the ingredients list above you can see Hyaluronic acid is one of the main ingredients. This is actually found just under the epidermis (skin) which nourishes & increases water content to the skin by attracting water. Using this moisturizer would replace what dehydrated skin is lackin
