How to perfect your lipstick | Pictorial

Sometimes just chucking on a lipstick isn't going to cut it, especially with some formulas that like to make their way over your face, or does that just happen to me? I've found that applying my lipstick this way, using different lip liners & doing it in different layers helps it to stay put & last a lot longer, too. This is not something that I do everyday but when I have time & I'm wearing a bolder lip colour I like to spend a bit more on the lips. 1. Line just outside of your natural lip line with a lip liner that is close to your natural colour if you prefer a fuller lip. Tip: If you're going for a nude lip, use a colour slightly darker than your lipstick. 2. Apply your lipstick of choice. It doesn't matter if you don't cover up the liner completely as we'll be going over that again. Make sure to really press your lips together to work the lipstick in. Tip: Use a lip brush with the first coat which helps the lipstic

Roadtest: Essence I Love Extreme Volume Review

So I bought this in my haul back in July & finally cracked it open although I still have a few mascara's on the go. I just bought it without hearing anything about it so I thought that would be interesting. I have been wearing it for the past few days so here is my thoughts.

Firstly let's start with this comparison to Max Factor False Lash Effect. If you think this brush is big, think again. Compared to Essence I<3 Extreme it is a baby!

L-R Essence I <3 Extreme, Max Factor False Lash Effect
I thought I would get too much mascara all over my lids, but to be honest it isn't actually that bad! I do like the brush, it has heaps of bristles which allows all the lashes to be caught. However it can cause clumps easily so make sure to wipe it on the edges of the tube before taking it anywhere near your eyes.
I've found it has a good drying time, doesn't take too long, but also allows you to leave multiple coats without drying too fast. I find that is the best way to avoid clumpiness. And it doesn't flake on me during the day.

Roadtest:
Here are my sad, sad lashes. Before curling, not that it really does too much for me anyway =/ Mascara really does complete the look!
One eye only, both curled. I think it adds a lot more volume than what I had before & define's my lashes.
Both done, also bottom lashes. I think it looks best with a dramatic waterline, not that the lashes look extremely dramatic or anything it just suits it more.
creepy eye shots!

Overall I do like this mascara & the volume it gives, especially given that the price is between $3-$5AUD. Bargain! You can find Essence in Priceline & Target here. It looks nice alone but I like to layer other mascara's over the top as well for different effects.

Are there any other Essence mascara's you've tried that you like?
xx
