How to perfect your lipstick | Pictorial

Imagen
Sometimes just chucking on a lipstick isn't going to cut it, especially with some formulas that like to make their way over your face, or does that just happen to me? I've found that applying my lipstick this way, using different lip liners & doing it in different layers helps it to stay put & last a lot longer, too. This is not something that I do everyday but when I have time & I'm wearing a bolder lip colour I like to spend a bit more on the lips. 1. Line just outside of your natural lip line with a lip liner that is close to your natural colour if you prefer a fuller lip. Tip: If you're going for a nude lip, use a colour slightly darker than your lipstick. 2. Apply your lipstick of choice. It doesn't matter if you don't cover up the liner completely as we'll be going over that again. Make sure to really press your lips together to work the lipstick in. Tip: Use a lip brush with the first coat which helps the lipstic...

Stila Festival Of Colour | Haul

Imagen
So I stated in my July wishlist that I had cut down on my spending, and I think I've been pretty good with it! It feels like forever since I've bought any new products, but when I heard about the Stila Festival Of Colour collection, I knew I had to get in fast. The main reason I wanted to buy from this collection were the Stila After Glow Lip Colours. I was going to wait until my holiday until I found out that they were limited edition. It was something I didn't want to miss out on, even if they were still available I mightn't be able to get the colours I wanted, so of course when Beauty Bay had them in stock I placed an order. Unfortunately a few other LE items caught my eye too! Countless Colour Pigments in Lyric, Smudgestick in Turquoise, After Glow Lip Colours in Electric Pink & Festive Fuchsia  So the main reason why I wanted the After Glow Lip colours so badly are because they glow in UV light which I can picture would be a shock to see someone with glowing ...

July Summer Holiday Wishlist

Imagen
As if I haven't mentioned it enough, my holiday to the US is fast approaching in just over 2 weeks! It's something we have been planning for so long so it's almost unreal that it's nearly here. Obviously we are going to do all the touristy things, but I am also excited to shop up, taking advantage of the huge price differences, so I wanted to make up my first wish list with some products that I intend to buy.  I have slowed right down on my makeup spending in the last couple of months on makeup & other materialistic items so that I wouldn't feel too bad in how much I would be spending but I wasn't going to let that happen anyway! I'm also hoping I won't need to purchase anything other then essentials for a long time afterwards. 1. MAC Face & Body Foundation : I think out of all the MAC foundations I'd like to try their F&B because it sounds like a natural glowy foundation perfect for summer. Other higher-end foundations I want to look at...

June Empties & Product I'm Chucking Out

Imagen
Is it really over half way through the year already?! Well I know I said I would do this bi-monthly but I figured I don't want to keep the post too long with too many products, & I'm trying to be more ruthless with using products up, so here are my current empties!  Body   Sex In The City Kiss Lotion: This is the 2nd bottle I've used up from my Christmas set, the lotions aren't too bad but if they were available separately I probably wouldn't bother. Garnier Body Intensive 7Days: I love these lotions but out of the ones I've tried, this is probably my least favourite. I can't really tell if my skin looks brighter, but I've already bought a replacement with the hydrating lotion. Hair   PPS The Ends: My miracle hair treatment that I apply to only the ends after washing, my split ends aren't as bad, it smells so nice & my hair feels amaazing afterwards. You can also use it on dry hair to tone down frizz. Bought another, I can't live without ...

Jeunesse's Luminesce Daily Moisturizing Complex & Essential Body Renewal | Review

Imagen
If you're like me and in the winter season now, there's nothing more needed then a super hydrating moisturizer to combat the dry skin that winter seems to cause, whether it's your face or body.   I was lucky enough to be asked to review a couple of products from Jeunesse , the Daily Moisturizing Complex & Essential Body Renewal from their Luminesce line, which are targeted for dry skin which makes them both perfect winter products to restore your skin. Daily Moisturizing Complex  This daily moisturizer is best suited to dry or mature skin, with properties meant to be effective for anti-ageing by reducing fine lines & wrinkles and promoting the production of collagen & elastin, while restoring moisture levels in the skin. Even if you don't have mature skin starting early for preventative measures are always easier than having to try and fix it once the damage is done, such as using an eye cream for the same reason. I've found this to absorb quickly into m...

Youtube Inspiration #2 | Lilpumpkinpie05 Tropical Paradise Eyes

Imagen
Lilpumpkinpie05 or Jackie O, aka Makeup Game On Point on facebook is an amazing MUA on youtube with an awesome, fun personality  and she makes you feel a part of her tutorials. I've recently mentioned her in another recent look but I wanted to do another one specifically for this series. She does some amazing makeup looks but I have recently recreated her Tropical Paradise eye look , which is actually my second attempt since my first one just came out as my same old peacock eyes as I forgot exactly what she did so it turned out the same as my others.  Face | I am still using my Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder, and I contoured with my Nars Laguna Bronzer & highlighted with MAC's Cream Colour Base in Pearl & MAC Lightscapade. For blush I wore Bourjois 16 Rose blusher over Nyx's Stick blush in Tulip. Eyes | After priming I used Maybelline's Colour Tattoo in Tenacious Teal all over the lid & along the lower lash line. O...

Nyx Wonder Pencil

Imagen
Something I've been needing for a little while is a nude eyeliner. I have a brow highlighter from Prestige Cosmetics that I was using every now & then but still wanted to try something else. I also wanted to try Rimmel's Scandal'eyes Waterproof eyeliner in Nude but it is always sold out on Priceline online and I am not able to get it in any stores near me. So when I saw the Nyx Wonder Pencil on Cherry Culture it sounded like an interesting 3-in-1 product to test out.   Product: The Nyx Wonder pencil claims to be a concealer, eye brightener & reverse lip liner all in one. You can get it in the colour Light, Medium & Deep but I choose light so I could use it essentially as a brightener in the waterline but it would only highlight my blemishes so I wouldn't use as a concealer. I also like to use it under the eyebrow & in the inner corner and blend out as a base for my highlighter colours, and I've tried it as a lip liner, but you don't want to go o...

Caviar & Bubbles | Review & FOTD

Imagen
I hope everybody is doing well! Firstly as Google Reader is closing down in a couple of weeks, I would appreciate it if you were able to follow me through Bloglovin so you can keep updated! It sucks how hard everybody has worked to gain followers to have it taken away! Anyhow, let me know if you have followed & I will make sure I have followed you. In a previous post I showed one of my newer purchases, the Caviar & Bubbles (AKA Champagne & Caviar) palette from Nyx, so I've been playing around with it in the past couple of weeks and here's what I think of it! The Palette Packaging : In a sturdy compact palette with a large mirror, perfect for traveling. Colours: 5 matte & 5 shimmery neutral eyeshadows which mostly leans towards a cool tone. Most of the light shimmery colours are very similar to each other in the swatches/ pan but come out different on the eyes. Pigmentation: Fairly pigmented with one swipe but I'd still recommend a base to make the most ...
