How to perfect your lipstick | Pictorial

Imagen
Sometimes just chucking on a lipstick isn't going to cut it, especially with some formulas that like to make their way over your face, or does that just happen to me? I've found that applying my lipstick this way, using different lip liners & doing it in different layers helps it to stay put & last a lot longer, too. This is not something that I do everyday but when I have time & I'm wearing a bolder lip colour I like to spend a bit more on the lips. 1. Line just outside of your natural lip line with a lip liner that is close to your natural colour if you prefer a fuller lip. Tip: If you're going for a nude lip, use a colour slightly darker than your lipstick. 2. Apply your lipstick of choice. It doesn't matter if you don't cover up the liner completely as we'll be going over that again. Make sure to really press your lips together to work the lipstick in. Tip: Use a lip brush with the first coat which helps the lipstic...

Cherry Culture Haul: Jordana & Nyx + My giveaway goodies.

Imagen
If you couldn't tell I have been hauling a bit lately, although I haven't been ordering too much so I don't feel bad ;) I have been influenced by a fair few aussie youtube beauty guru's lately since I have been watching more of them, and this time Laurenbeautyy *MADE* me need to buy a couple of Jordana blushes... aand also the Nyx lip liner.  Jordana blushes.... these were $2.39 from www.cherryculture.com and I had seen the latter 2 on Lauren & they were highly pigmented on her & looked beautiful. And they are! & When I saw redwood I knew I needed to get it too. The one thing I though would annoy me the most was the screw-top lids! However it's like 2 screws and it's off so it's not really a pain.  Redwood has subtle flecks of glitter in it but it doesn't show up as a disco-ball on your face, Coral Sandy Beach has a slight sheen & Touch of Pink is matte. L-R Raspberry, Mango Having not really heard anything about their lipsticks I thoug...

Madamemadeline.com small eyelash haul!

Thanks to ChloeMorello on youtube I found the website www.madamemadeline.com (No affiliation to both) which has an awesome arrange of eyelashes!! When I ordered on there I didn't realize I had to confirm through email my address before they would send it... so after 2 weeks of waiting I went on & saw that I had to! I looked through my emails but then realized as I used our linked paypal account it went under my partners email.... gahh.. so I confirmed and actually knew they were on their way. However by the time I actually received them it had been over a month... oh well it was my fault but I hate waiting! Especially as I was looking forward to something in particular..... Read on to have a look :)  Firstly, also thanks to Chloe I bought the Ardell Demi Wispies for more of an everyday lash. These are probably my faveourite type of lash because of the winged shape and the fullness is nice for daytime without going over the top but can also be suited for night wear. This websi...

Jewel Smoky Eye Makeup

Imagen
This was inspired by a fairly recent video of Lisa Eldridge just using a dark base & jewel-toned colours over the top. It really doesn't matter which colours you use or the placement as long as they stand out & are jewel-toned, however the black base will take away some of the brightness. Sadly this was an "all dressed up, nowhere to go" look but I had fun doing it and will def. do it again for a night out. You can also go with a nude lip with this but I wanted bright lips, too. Keep reading to see how I used my colours!  Sorry the pictures are horrible sizes- Click on them for a better look. ~Products~ Face: Australis Paparazzi Perfect Foundation Jordana Blush Coral Sandy Beach Nude by Nature Eye Definer Eyes: Nyx Black Bean Jumbo Eye Pencil (in order from inner to outer corner) Sugarpill Goldilux (gold) , Inglot AMC Shine 39 (light pink) , Inglot AMC 68 (light purple) , Green from Sleek Bad Girl, Inglot P 428 (dark blue) . Brush Haul: Sigma, Real Techniques & Brush Storage.

Imagen
Typically after showing you my foundation routine, I have to go and buy new brushes, huh! Not that I don't do the same technique but anyway, I thought I would treat myself to a few new brushes as I haven't for a while. :) Real Techniques I ordered these from Iherb.com , shipping was very reasonable at $12 for next day shipping or $4 for the usual waiting time. I received mine in a week which I think is the best shipping time I've ever had! Plus you cannot beat the prices online to instore at priceline! From Real Techniques I got the Face & Eye starter kit & Setting brush. The kits were around $18 when they are $50 here (!!) As much as I wish I could shop locally nothing compares to online prices. The setting brush was $8 when I believe its close to $20 here. Both starter kits come in cases that double as a stand but I'll probably only use them for traveling. Face Core Collection kit- Buffing Brush Here is the buffing brush compared to my old foundation brush,...

Glam Smoky Eye Picture Tutorial

Imagen
While I was doing this makeup for an engagement party I thought I may as well take pictures from each step for another tutorial. This is very similar to the eye's I wore here except a bit more glammed up with optional glitter, using the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. Keep reading to see how to do this look! Step 1. Prep & prime your eyes. Apply tape to the outer corner of your eye at a desired angle (you can see I remembered to do it in the 2nd step lol). Apply a sticky eye base if desired. I used Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil 's in Cottage Cheese (C.C) & Slate to match the e/s colours, applying C.C 3/4 of the lid & Slate in the outer 1/4.  Step 2. Blend out & apply more if needed. Only add a little bit at a time to avoid creasing later on.  Step 3. Apply Verve (Satin silvery-white colour) from the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette over the top of C.C.  Step 4. Apply Pistol (Satin Slatey-grey) over the top of the Slate JEP. Step 5. Blend Tease (Matte taupe y-purple ) into ...
