How to perfect your lipstick | Pictorial

Imagen
Sometimes just chucking on a lipstick isn't going to cut it, especially with some formulas that like to make their way over your face, or does that just happen to me? I've found that applying my lipstick this way, using different lip liners & doing it in different layers helps it to stay put & last a lot longer, too. This is not something that I do everyday but when I have time & I'm wearing a bolder lip colour I like to spend a bit more on the lips. 1. Line just outside of your natural lip line with a lip liner that is close to your natural colour if you prefer a fuller lip. Tip: If you're going for a nude lip, use a colour slightly darker than your lipstick. 2. Apply your lipstick of choice. It doesn't matter if you don't cover up the liner completely as we'll be going over that again. Make sure to really press your lips together to work the lipstick in. Tip: Use a lip brush with the first coat which helps the lipstic

Makeup Brush Essentials: Eyes & Lips

Imagen
This is a post that is hopefully helpful to the beginners out there who cannot decide what type of brushes they should be looking for. Don't get me wrong, my brush collection has taken a loong time to slowly build up, but as long as you start with the basics you can keep adding to it later on. You also don't need to buy the most expensive brushes for a great result. However today I will not be focusing on the brands, simply on the type of brushes. I hope that makes sense lol.  Lid brushes *Apologies for the brushes not being in the same order, D'oh!* Top: Synthetic Flat brush: This is not absolutely essential, but it is good for applying primer & cream eyeshadows to the eyelids. Synthetic is best for creams as it will not soak up all the product, making it easier to clean. Middle: Large Stiff Shader brush: This is good for packing a whole lotta colour onto the lid. Bottom: Small Shader Brush: Simply used for the same method as the larger one, however it is better for

Anniversary EOTN, Smoky with Makeup Geek

The other night was my SO & my 1 year anniversary of engagement, I can't believe how fast the year has gone! We often get the question "when's the date?" & fortunately we haven't really had "Why did you get engaged if you weren't planning to marry straight away?" so you can guess we don't have a date & that's how we want it for a while, lol. I'd rather have completed my traineeship before having to worry about planning something so big. ~Anyway~ We just went out for tea, nothing too fancy because that's the way we wanted it lol. But I still wanted to do my makeup nicely. It's certainly no first-date makeup & probably a bit too much for some people but it was just like any other occasion to go out for dinner. I used a few Makeup Geek (MUG) eyeshadows -reviews and swatches coming up soon!). Here it is. I managed to get one decent-ish face photo because I took these at night and I don't really have good lighting a

How to get bouncy curls overnight!

Imagen
There are many ways to get curls with no heat, but this is such a pretty way that you can wear out before taking it out- I left mine in for 24 hours before I did (believe me the elastic headband kept slipping down & driving me crazy, but if the hair was coming out all it took was to kind of roll the hair back under the band).  All I used was an elastic head band and twisted my hair starting from the front & working side to side until all hair is tucked under it. Its hard to visualize like that but there are a few great tutorials on youtube.  I couldn't find the one from lilithedarkmoon   but this is what I did I used a thinner one for my hair so the curls turned out a bit different to hers but it's pretty much the same result. You can also add mousse to your hair before twisting it. Sorry for the instagram photo lol- but this is how it looks from behind. Super Pretty!  Its hard to see but this is how it looked up from the side. Although it was the morning after I sle

Sigma face Brushes: F82 + F84

Imagen
I've been window shopping on the Sigma website for the longest time, making wishlists but not actually purchasing. I finally bit the bullet and ordered a couple of face & eyebrushes. Today I'm reviewing the Sigma f82 and f84 brushes. I purchased them a few weeks ago as a pack together as they had a special of $8 off and because I have been looking for something like these for a while. Description from the Sigma Website. "The Synthetic Sigmax Duo contains two of our best-selling brushes with classic black matte handles. The brushes in this collection feature the exclusive Sigmax filament, which allows for flawless makeup application without absorption into the fibers. The F82 is soft, dense and round for seamless blending of mineral products onto the skin. The F84 is soft, dense and angled for easy buffing of blush or bronzer onto the skin." From what I've seen, the Sigma f82 is a smaller, rounded version of the f80 brush. I think you can use it for founda

Makeup on Others

Imagen
I'll jump at a chance to do makeup on others, especially as I need to practice because its so different from doing it on yourself! Haha.  This is my friend Shenitta, we went to primary school and can you believe it but 2 weeks before this was the first time we had seen each other in 11 years. She moved away but now she's back doing a Beauty course so I was able to travel up and see her :) And she wanted me to do her makeup and we didn't think we'd have a chance but she got to come around to where we were staying before going out :) So yeah haha. If you can think back to my dramatic goldilux look a few posts ago I did pretty much the same thing here but I like how it looked on her, and I reallly wanted to use gold with her blue eyes! ~Products~ Sugarpill Goldilux Black from Too Faced Ooh & Ahh duo + UD Blackout The white shimmer you can see in the inner half is mainly from the shadow she was already wearing but I'm pretty sure I also used UD Bootycall as a highl

How to: Summery Electrick Eyeliner

Imagen
Yes, yet another eyeliner look lol. This is a fun look for summer & can be done with any colours. I practiced it the night before, just randomly when I was bored haha & decided to wear it out the next day. I had done my eyebrows earlier but apart from that only one side of the face has makeup on it so I could see the difference. Its not the best pic though under my eyes def. look better with concealer! Take 2~ How To: Put a wash of colour on the lid & in the crease using neutral colours. I used Urban Decay's Naked on the lid & Tease in the crease. Using a small eyeliner brush (Sonia Kashuk Bent eyeliner ) , take a white cream - Nyx JEP in Milk & draw your eyeliner on the top & bottom lashine. I added extra in the waterline. Taking your colours one at a time apply them starting from the inner corner of the top lashline, & as you apply the next colour, bring it slightly into the first just to help them transition nicely. Do the same on the lower lashli
