How to perfect your lipstick | Pictorial

Imagen
Sometimes just chucking on a lipstick isn't going to cut it, especially with some formulas that like to make their way over your face, or does that just happen to me? I've found that applying my lipstick this way, using different lip liners & doing it in different layers helps it to stay put & last a lot longer, too. This is not something that I do everyday but when I have time & I'm wearing a bolder lip colour I like to spend a bit more on the lips. 1. Line just outside of your natural lip line with a lip liner that is close to your natural colour if you prefer a fuller lip. Tip: If you're going for a nude lip, use a colour slightly darker than your lipstick. 2. Apply your lipstick of choice. It doesn't matter if you don't cover up the liner completely as we'll be going over that again. Make sure to really press your lips together to work the lipstick in. Tip: Use a lip brush with the first coat which helps the lipstic

Bubblegum, MUG Inspired

A little while ago now, I finally had gotten around to watching Marlena from Makeupgeek tv on youtubes' last cocktail inspired look.. (I'm sorry I forget the name now, Berry Mojitio?- I'll look it up later) but straight away I was inspired by the colour combo & placement. Well I guess you can't say this is inspired- I just wanted to try her tutorial exactly how she did it. & I love it!!  Please ignore my scrungy around-the-house shirt- I wish I changed it for the pix! More Nakedness~

Hey beautifuls. Still been really busy & haven't had a chance to go on blogger since last week! Hopefully it's slowed down more. Updates about the new job later! So I still love playing around with my Naked palette & finding out new combos. You will see a ton of work looks with them since its so easy to reach for in the morning. This is one of my fave combos from the palette, which I find is a  gorgeous sexy smokey eye. I wore this to work & had a horrible customer that day who abused me, (retail- that figures!) & I cried when she left :( So I ruined my makeup dammit, & we were going out for tea that night but we were going to the gym beforehand anyway so I had to redo it. ~Look 1~ Cheeks- E.L.F blush in Peachy Keen. Lips- bare, except for  lip balm. So & I out for dinner that night. Well we were with family as well :) Eyes- Sin all over the lid (originally I started with sidecar but changed my mind). After I completed the look I added some gold from th

Bird Inspired #1 Parot

Imagen
Hey everyone! Another quick post, no time to check in! In our backyard we have a lattice set up where we keep a bird bell (bird seed in the um shape of a bell lol). Quite often we have some Parots (or some sort of colourful bird haha- not too sure which species- maybe Lorikeets? ) that are usually in pairs but sometimes we can have up 5 at one time. Anyway... I have been meaning forever to use their gorgeous colours as inspiration. Hard to see how bright their colours are. These pics where taken before I did the rest of my makeup. So excuse the brows!   Picture borrowed from Google. Pink stars- mixed together on lid. White star-outer corner + undereye Orange stars- Mixed together for crease Green stars- mixed for above green Not pictured- Red for under eye, white for inner corner. I find the blues are hard to blend with the 120 palette. -Blending the red into the blue- I pictured it to look so much better but It didn

My fave way to wear blues

Imagen
Hey guys! I thought I would save some posts as drafts if I am going to busy, that way it will feel like I'm still here :) So this is a look that I did a few weeks ago, & I have to say it is probably my fave way to wear blues without going OTT. Most people are intimidated by it, I think they have a phobia of looking 80's but I've learned that there's a lot of ways to wear it without looking like Mimi! I don't know how I look so 'warm' here!!! Silly face!! :P I also used the nude colour to highlight.  Nyx JEP in milk as base + waterline. Eyes- Designer Brands palette (Pictured) Dark blue from 120 palette. Maybelline Liquid eyeliner  Cheeks- Nyx peach blush Lips- Nyx soft lip cream in Tokyo Looking back, I could have blended the darker blue more with the lighter blue. & I needed to clean up underneath the eye O.o Otherwise I liked this look- very similar to a look I did years agoo I loved this when I did it. Same colours except matte. Eyebrows have arch

Dramatic Gold with red lips + update

Firstly, the update: Some of you may have read that I am doing a beauty traineeship... well I am actually starting next week!! So for the first few weeks I will still probably be working nights at my other job.. so I will finish early at the salon then go across town (luckily the town isn't too big haha) to that job & by the end of the day I will be exhausted!! But then I will be keeping only 2 nights at that place so it wont happen all the time.. but unfortunately for me it will be less time to blog & check out other blogs :( Anyhoo the other weekend we had to help with some makeup for a local fashion show!! It turned out to be plenty of other salons there as well to do makeup & a few people to do hair so we didn't do too many people. More talk of that at the end of the post. For this day (I had to work in the morning) I did a gold eye using the Naked palette (haa, well had to do makeup at the SO's place in the morning so it was easier to transport) & a qui

Smoke & Glitter~ Pic Heavy

So this is a delayed post from the other weekend.. we had hired out a bus for my aunties birthday & decorated it & went out for tea to a place that's about 25 minutes out of town.. by the time we had picked everyone up it took us over an hour & we had (between us girls) 5 bottles of champagne 0_o Anyway, I went smokey again but decided to add some glittaa & I was going to do lashes but ran out of time 'coz I did my aunties makeup before..... pics of that at the end! Playing around with the colours.. this is probably more correct. Before I changed my clothes.. coz I like the way my hair looks he he Added some lipgloss because I wasn't too happy with the lip colour.... after all of those damn photos >.<   I also layered some Nyx Iris over Revlon Nude Attitude (whats wrong with that picture.. bahah), but that's the basics. For the eyes I first used The Face Shop uh Shimmer Stick in silver then Stila Kitten & then the black shade in that palett
